A guide for orientation, not a replacement
This project exists to make a large, unfamiliar game world easier to approach. It introduces the released game through a dated overview of combat, exploration, characters and paths. The homepage brings those subjects together and connects them to an explanation of how this independent reference is maintained. The purpose is practical orientation: help a player understand where a topic belongs, what questions to ask next, and which checked source may deserve a closer look. It is not meant to replace the game, an official manual, or the work of other independent researchers.
How the research is assembled
Research begins with the current release and a dated set of official public references. Factual notes are compared across official announcements, store listings, developer material, and clearly labelled third-party reporting when those sources are relevant. The evidence behind each overview is retained so statements can be revisited when a new update changes the game. Observations are separated from confirmed details, and changing information is described with dates or cautious language rather than presented as permanent certainty.
Accuracy has a visible boundary
Accuracy matters, but a guide can still lag behind a patch, regional release, or newly discovered interaction. The pages therefore describe their scope and the date of the information. A date describes when a report was current; a source note describes the evidence that supported it; and an unknown field stays unknown instead of being filled with a guess. Players making an important purchase or save-file decision should confirm the latest official information before acting.
Original content and decorative art
The homepage and overview use writing prepared for this independent reference. They explain verified game information in our own words, rather than reproducing a store description or another guide. Game names and character names identify the subjects being discussed. Decorative art made from shapes and colours belongs to the site presentation and should not be mistaken for screenshots or official character designs. Linked official media remains the work of its credited creators.
Independent and not affiliated
This is a fan-made learning project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the developers, publishers, platform holders, or maintainers of other Shroom and Gloom resources. Game names, character names, and related trademarks belong to their respective owners. Links to outside material are citations or further reading, not statements of partnership. Team Lazerbeam develops Shroom and Gloom, and Devolver Digital publishes it. Neither company operates this wiki or reviews its editorial decisions.
How corrections are approached
A useful correction explains both what changed and why. When an error is identified, the affected page should be compared with its supporting evidence, corrected, and checked for related statements that may need the same change. Date-sensitive reports should preserve their historical context instead of silently pretending they were always current. There is currently no public submission form or contact mailbox. A useful correction note should identify the page, the statement in question, the game version and an official source. Keeping that context together makes a later review easier and avoids replacing one unsupported claim with another.
